I was up at Living Voice HQ at the weekend and spent the day spinning discs (CD and LP) with Kevin. The amps were Kondo and Art Audio, with the new RW speakers. I own the OBX-R2 and the RWs are a pretty big step up. All was sounding good...Then we tried swapping between the grid AC and his battery supply. The difference was phenomenal and immediately obvious. There was loads more of everything - weight, space, slam, delicacy etc etc - all the stuff we all want, along with a stunning purity and smoothness. I couldn't stop grinning. Kevin was also able to try a smaller battery set-up (with only one inverter, I think) and it still sounded pretty damn good. If you've got the space and the cash, it's the way forward!
