Cable Cooker Remarks

My employer has a Cable Cooker. Along with contact cleaners, the Cooker has got to be the most valuable, useful, and effective audio tool. Our Cooker has been through more hands than a dirty dollar bill. But that's a good thing, as more and more people have learned about the Cooker's usefulness.

Some rather nteresting remarks come from the non-audiophiles who have seen our Cooker.

Whenever it's my turn to use the Cooker, my wife (lilkilljoy on xanga) knows of its lurking presence. When the Cooker is on, it makes a blowing noise, interspersed with chirps. My wife has become so familiar with it, she uses the Cable Cooker as a point of reference for noise. For example, when she was checking out some PCs, some were rather noisy, and she said they "were louder than the Cable Cooker." And when she rode in a Camry, she remarked that it was so smooth and quiet, it was not any louder than the Cable Cooker.

Visitors to my house notice the Cooker. They always ask what it is. Surprisingly, they actually listen to me, when I explain what it does. In that sense, they're more perceptive than audiophiles. They're the ones who ask, "So if you compare a Cooked cable to a non-Cooked cable, can you hear or see a difference?"

One of my friends understood the Cooker's performance and said, "I wish I had a machine that could break in my shoes, (baseball) mitt, and tools."

Amy asked if the Cooker can fry an egg [no, it does not give off much heat]. Will asked if it has a vacuum cleaner attachment [no, it doesn't suck]. Kip asked if it can turn the room lights on and off. Hien asked if it does anything to car battery jumper cables. Alison asked if it gives off ions to clean the air. Willie asked if it, when powered up, also works on the house's AC wiring.

Ah, but I got a kick out of Brenda, who, upon learning what the Cooker does, remarked, "That's got to be the nerdiest thing I've ever seen!"
