I understand it's a difficult situation for you to swap directions. If you feel the sub is providing tight and quality low frequency extension, I would leave the cable placed as is if you would prefer not to try a swap (the install might be a beneficial mistake, dunno). The only way to know for sure is to try the directional swap. However, I have found that a "reversed" interconnect often provides a tighter bass but is less extended (does not go as low). If you think your sub sounds tight enough but does not go as low as you would expect it should, the difficult swap might truly be worthwhile. my 2 cents
