Re: Multicore SN62 as Wonder Solder alternative...

Hey Alan: Yes I cryo treat the cables after assembly. Have found that you can easily hear the difference of just one non frozen solder joint. For example if I have a bad joint (somebody else must have done that one) and I go back into an interconnect to resolder it (this after the whole interconnect has been cryo treated) you can hear the difference that the one single non cryo treated joint makes. At that point the interconnect has to be re frozen to bring it all back home. The cryo treated solder seems to work a little nicer than non treated. Can't prove this, might even be my imagination but hey I've got the LN2 so I just feel better pretreating the solder. It's a habbit now so that's just what I do.
With situations where a crimp connection is used all parts are cryo treated prior to assembly and the whole completed unit is then cryo treated after assembly. Hope that this helps regards Moray James.
