The Home Depot 14 gauge outdoor extension cable works fine for me, especially after I started using a dual run of it (one cable serving the forward/"+" line, one serving the return/"-" link). It replaced some exotic $500 cable in my system and outperformed $1200 wire in a friend's. The orange/black cover looks like hell, though, unless you cover it with Techflex or hide it away. It won't cost you more than $25 or so to find out how you like it.
