This is interesting! I have the opposite experience regarding the Monocle XL in my system than you. This is maybe because I used only one length (single wire) of Monocle XL and you having two (bi-wire). I know that many say that these speakers benefit using bi-wire speaker cables, this can be the reason that we got different “resultsâ€. But regarding the AudioQuest CV-8 DBS (which I use as bi-wire, two lengths to each speaker) I have also the opposite experience than you. I hear more details in the music and having a more “being there†feeling that with the Monocle XL (in single–wire). This shows that cables is very system independent and that every one should try cables in there own systems before buying, the personal taste of coarse is also important.
Regarding the “to-in†of the speakers I must admit this was a typing error. Of coarse it should be written “toe-inâ€. Sorry my main language is not English :-)
