Re: Van den Hul D-102 MK III interconnects...

Good morning, mt10425. These will be my first set of Van den Hul interconnects, but I'm familiar with the VDH house sound.

I've done quite a bit of cable and AC upgrades in recent months, and as a result, the 2-channel HT aspect of my main system is now sounding a bit "raw and exposed", so I'm going to experiment with IC's that I expect to perform with a bit more euphony than my essentially transparent VH Audio Cryo'd Pulsar interconnects, not to mention the new VH Audio Spectrum Cu interconnects which are outstanding.

While a digital CATV box can sound surprisingly good (it is quite sensitive to both IC's and power cords, as well as a PLC and vibration control devices), it's performance and source material is not as predictable as audiophile quality gear and program sources can be, and leaves room for experimentation with more colorful sounding cables (but not too colored;-). "Too much of a good thing" in terms of cables when placed on "consumer electronics" can be true, sometimes.

My Van den Hul Mainsstream Hybrid power cord sounds a bit too "hi-fi-ish" when placed on my CDP/transport, but sounds excellent on a Motorola digital CATV box using a IEC to C7 adaptor. I'm hoping the VDH D-102 MK III interconnects will synergize with the VDH power cord in a manner that offers even a bit more pizzazz as placed on the CATV teminal's analog audio outputs. I've tried a number of other nominally euphonic IC's on it, but they all have been too much of a "not so good thing". I'll see what kinda voodoo the the VHD IC's do do...
