Belden 83802 has very poor focus in my experience (the 3-conductor version 83803 should do no better). However, I do like 83802 for use as a turntable power cord (different animal). So, I can't recommend 83802/83803 in general. Others might disagree, and that's OK with me. There's better DIY power cord products to be found at a higher price (as you know), but if you are on a tight budget, Belden 19364 should perform better than many typical stock power cords, at least (that's what you are interested in accomplishing, right?). The connectors you choose will also be limited by what you can afford. If you explain your connector budget, I'll try to be of help.
