The Sonica does not have ASIO drivers for the PC as far as I know.I did try ASIO4ALL as well, but did not have any luck. It is not that I don't get any sound, it is more like the player itself will not play when ASIO or Kernel Streaming is selected.
Keep in mind, it works fine with wav out selected and piped through the optical cable, so it if definitely a config or compatibility issue.
I will look into some of your suggestions,
Thanks,

Hi Tony,Is it possible that the Sonica (and the motherboard), only support 48? I think the ASIO plugin for Winamp defaults to 44 (whereas wav may go with the window's mapper at 48). Try changing the ASIO plugin sample rate to 48.
only because if I use the upsampler in Foobar, my panny reports that it is receiving a 96khz PCM signal.
Hmmm..perhaps the upsampler is part of the problem. If you are using the winamp asio plugin, it has it's own upsampler. Howabout trying just the winamp asio plugin (ideally using winamp), and then trying both 48 and 96 sample rates by using the settings in the ASIO plugin.
I found something over on the Hydrogen Audio Forums...setting audio output to 32 bit fixed in Foobar resolved the issue.
I did reinstall ASIO4ALL as well as the Sonica USB drivers as opposed to the Windows USB Audio Drivers
