His only value to the West is that he opposes Putin. Western "thinkers' don't go further than that on the subject. He has ZERO support in Russia anyway.
The brunt of the fighting and dying on the Russian side is done by so called "allied" forces. Mainly Russian speaking Ukrainians from Donetsk republics.
Where is that Ukrainian counteroffensive and million strong army trained and equipped by Britons??
According to our brilliant experts Russia supposed to already:
a) collapse economically under the sanctions with "rubble value of a ruble"
b) ran out of rockets 6 months ago (that's Victor's prediction
c) ran out of tanks, planes and artillery
d) ran out of munitions
e) ran out of Putin due to a coup
f) ran out of Putin due to a cancer
g) ran out of Shoigu due to kangaroo military court proceeding
and so on and so forth ...
The truth is Russians are slowly grinding thousands of Ukrainian troops with minimal own loses these days and time is on their side.
