The Canonette was a good camera. Simple, but functional and certainly not too much for a 6th grader.
When I was in 6th? I think I had an Argus c3.....'The Brick', in part for its boxy shape and in part for its durability...
And that it was still working maybe 30 years on? Good camera. some of the newer all-electronic stuff is shot at about 10,000 exposures.......
This line is what put Canon 'on the map', in a sense. They must have made 20 different takes on this name over a 20 year span.....give or take.
I owned the TLb basic SLR in about 75 or so.....500th top shutter speed! But the internal match-needle meter was wonderful to use and I learned to over / under expose 'on the fly' as conditions demanded. The upline FTb was aspirational while the F1 (first model) was 'unobtanium'......
Too much is never enough
