Don't drive into town, parking is exorbitant. Either take an Uber or check with the Doubletree to see if they have a shuttle to town.

Restaurants
Monterey Bay Fish Grotto on Mount Washington. Excellent food, great wine list and the view of the city is fantastic. Your wife will feel romantic!

Casbah in East liberty. A perennial Pittsburgh "best restaurant"

Eleven Expensive but outstanding. Great wine list

Eddie V You wont' believe this is a national chain. They do it right. elegant atmosphere and fabulous wine list.

Grand Concourse Decent food in a restored train station. The architecture is fantastic and the food is good. Small wine list, reasonable prices. If you get seated in the right section there is a view of the city and the river

Alla Famiglia A very expensive Italian restaurant. Great food, no chicken parm!

Gaucho Parrillo An argentinian restaurant serving wonderful meats cooked on a wood fired grill. The empanadas are outstanding

Dish Osteria A great cozy but small Italian Restaurant on the south side. Reservations at times are hard to come by.

And finally if you want to feel like a Pittsburgh you must go to Primanti Brothers A bar cum restaurant that serves Pittsburgh's answer to the Philly cheese steak. A variety of fried meats on Italian bread with cole slaw and french fires on the sandwich . It's a Pittsburgh tradition. Don't tell your cardiologist you went!
