I was talking with my son (will be 16 later this year) about life in general and current events and man, the boy really hates what's going on in our society. Left, right, Dems, Repubs...all of them! All politicians. Everything that's going on, especially the anti-vaxxers.
A genuine sense of despair was in his voice when talking about it. It was sad to hear as I wasn't aware he kept up on such things.
Worse, I couldn't do anything but listen and pretty much agree. Had no pearls of wisdom to offer. Anything I tried to suggest was met with, "What's the point?"
If he's any indication of other teens in our nation (which I think he is) we, the adults, have seriously done them a disgustingly awful disservice as those in charge of molding their minds for the future.
