Methane--at room temperature and standard pressure, methane is a colorless, odorless gas. The only reason that you smell natural gas (as a result of a leak or opened (unlit) valve is the odorant intentionally added to the methane as a means of detection.
Just sayin'--farts don't "stink" because of methane...
