Are all gasoline cans junk these days ?

I visited Home Depot, Lowes, and an auto parts store a couple weeks ago looking for a good gasoline can that would hold about 2 - 2.5 gallons for my Yamaha generator.

To my surprise they all have a goofy plastic spout with a clunky spring loaded venting tip. You have to twist the cap off then twist one section of the two piece spout to align with the other piece so you can pull back on the spring mechanism to release a round vent cover at the spout tip.

Talk about a pain in the butt and a lot of fumbling around to pour gas, and it requires both hands !!

Are all gas cans like this now? Are there any better alternatives including old school basic gas cans - metal or plastic with a simple spout and cap? I couldn't find any.
