Hahahahahahaha! That's actually pretty funny.It's a slow leak, and takes about 4 months or so to get where the AC is noticeably less efficient. So then we have them charge it up again. Had it done a few weeks ago, so we're good through June or so. One more charge around June/July will get us through September. It's annoying, but it's still cheaper than throwing money at repair work which may or may not fix it - already did that once. Diagnoses:
1. Outside, where the line connects to the outdoor unit ("fixed" that).
2. Inside, on the backside of the evaporator coil. (The next "pro" said there's no leak there.)
3. Copper line running through the house foundation. (The guy's best guess.)
4. Outside, at the compressor motor connection.When the guy was here a few weeks ago, he said they could do a full system test/leak search for $500. 'Course, that doesn't include fixing it.
Bottom line: They don't know. Solution: We're thinking of buying a new house in a few years anyway, so, whatever.
