You got very lucky.
Both and amp and the tuner are superb.
If they don't ring your bell, then they aren't working up to snuff.
In that case, you'll want to have them refurbished.
Parts and tube selection is CRITICAL in maintaining or improving upon the original Fisher sound. Original Fisher branded tubes, even those 40 years old, often work perfectly...don't assume they need to be replaced...have them checked.
Go to the Vacuum Tube Valley web site (http://www.vacuumtube.com/) and look at their refurbishing kits. If you are going to have a tech do any work on your units, then purchase the kits from VTV and have your tech use the parts in those kits. It's not the cheapest way...but for someone just starting out in vintage tube hobby, it's the most reliable way to make sure you end up with reliable units that sound as good as or better than new.
