AMEN! All too often, AV receiver = mass market guano. :>((
FWIW, I look at the speakers people own to see how well they mate with tubed equipment. The OP's Signet SL280s have to be viewed as 4 Ω and 86 dB. sensitive, if they are connected to a tubed unit. Notice the minimum 4 Ω impedance, which mandates derating. Still, affordable equipment, like a Fisher 500C, will work quite well. What did Rosemary Clooney sing? "Comonna my house. I'm gonna give you everything." :>D
