I've had lots of the stuff for years. Back in 1990 it was all still considered "junk.". A Mac 225 cost the same. $225. Now that tubes are in again, as I always knew they would be, prices have gone up.
I like to try different things to see how they sound and go together.
I use the Mac 225,C22, MR67,Altec Flamencos (with added EVT350 tweeters)the Fairchild Table and Grado Arm (AT OC9 Cartridge-Ortofon T-30 Xfmr)for my everyday system.Very nice fast and clean sound. Amazing how some of this stuff blows away new so called audiophile equipment. Just had a shootout with a $3200 table/arm and the Fairchild/Grado. The Fairchild/Grado won in my opinion.
Screw the neighbors. I have to put up with their screaming grandchildren all summer!
