The 10-B is legendary, and for good reason. Bring very deep pockets to keep it in top form.
The McIntosh MR-71 with Richard Modaferri's mods has been called, by the always humble Modaferri, as the "10-B killer." It is, almost. The RF section isn't quite as good, but it's no slouch, either. Its audio section, like that of the 10-B, is breathtaking.
The other Marantz tuners are all good, if not nearly up to the sound quality of these two. Meters and 'scopes are nice, but your ears are better than any instruments for tuning in a station.
