I have used them in a friends Little Bear phonostage. We did a little tube rolling and we by far liked the Voskhod (rocket logo) triple mica tubes from the 60s. FYI, E does mean long life, V stands for special construction. As best I can tell is that the EV versions used special alloys or coatings over the non EV tubes.
Usually the triple mica tubes demand a premium, but I've found an auction that is pretty reasonable. Possibly the seller is unaware they are triple mica tubes (not all EVs are triple mica). Check out the photos and you can see they are indeed triple micas. I always buy EV tubes when I can, they also have tinned pins over the plain steel pinned tubes, so less problems with pin corrosion. The Foton tubes are usually the best of the Russian factories, and the 60's were the heyday of Soviet tube production.
