RE: Gluing Melamime?

Contact adhesive has little shear strength, the joints will creep over time.

PAR has it right as the type of glue.

Lots of reasons not to use melamine. It's tough to get it home without scuffing let alone machine, screw holding is poor, as well as impact resistance to edges.

Having said that many shops use it covering the show surfaces with that red paper used to cover hardwood floors during construction and spec'ing very coarse thread fasteners. Every time I used it I swore never again! Black, as shown, is worse for scuffs than white but still no picnic.



Formica is easier than you might think. Cut it with a $9 carbide knife and trim edges with a $15 block plane. See Youtube.
