Hello Jolyon,I have also obtained both machines on E bay and in comparison to the Teac models, they are a lot harder for me to fix-probably because I used to work for Teac and I am used to their designs. I think the heads were pretty much the same but the model was upgraded with respect to looks as the meters were changed. If you have Hi frequency loss you need to determine the condition of the heads by measuring the response with an alignment tape. If it is a little off, then it may be able to compensate with adjustment. Then again if it is really noticable, then the guy sold it becuase it needed new heads- something not easily obtained these days.
