Just because a EE says it does not mean it's gospel. I'm a EE who thinks that audible differences in audio cannot be fully explained electrically. And conversely, equipment that does well electrically does not necessarily mean it will sound good.I think the biggest disagreement I have with some fellow engineers is I don't believe in the notion that if it cannot be measured, it is unequivocally not there.
To explain this a different way- You hear two singers: A polished singer and a karaoke hack. One performs demonstrably better than the other. But is there a way to measure the difference??
