Pfishing - not new. Not new info here either...

It's not new. Even here - do a search
There are pfishes for PayPal, CitiBank, Western Union, and many many others. This has been happening for almost two years.
Even our computer illiterate local news has done stories on it.

No legitimate institution will demand -renewed- personal info via an email/website link. Ever.
Besides using your browser to look at the source code of the message for the real URL's or IP addresses, you can also assume that since PayPal/whomever never asked for your Drivers License # or Social Security number -originally- why would they now?
And when you get that email addressed to someone else about a multi million account that needs to get out of a Nigerian bank...well...

Sorta like opening email attachments from people you don't know without a virus scanner. Computer 101.
Sorry if I don't seem sympathetic, I don't mean it that way, but at the same time, I'm not...
