The S.E.X. design used two 6DN7 tubes. The 6DN7 is classified as a dissimilar triode. What that means is that there was a low power (1 watt) and a high power triode (10 watt) in the same glass envelope. From what I remember from the published schematic, Doc paralleled the low power sections to drive the high power sections which were also connected in parallel.I imagine that the ParaS.E.X. used the same circuit setup but used the parallel/shunt feed output stage technique instead of the conventional output.
