Re: Step Up Transformer - More info

Hi, thanks for the info. This is a step up transformer for moving coil phono cartridges. In one enclosed transformer, there is an input wire for each channel and a ground wire. I'm not sure how the ground wire is connected to the transformer, might just be to the case. Anyway you have a left[p-1], right[p-2] input, and on the output side a left[s-1], right[s-2]. There is another ground wire running alongside s-1 and s-2, but it is common with the input ground. These ground wires all go to a common link the feeds the ground side of all the phono jacks[input & output]. I'm reading continuity between the left and right [+] inputs [p-1 & p-2] and ground [the - on all phono jacks].
THere should not be continuity between the left and right channel on the plus side. It can't be correct. I'd like to learn more about it, but the step up is being returned to the seller.
Thank you,
Jeff
