I'm not sure what you mean by "positive input and ground". There should be continuity between the two wires feeding the primary. There should be continuity between the two wires feeding the secondary. If the step-up transformer is a two winding type (as opposed to an autotransformer), there should be electrical isolation between the primary and secondary, and no continuity should exist between any primary wire and any secondary wire. Let's call the primary wires "P1" and "P2", the secondary wires "S1" and "S2". There should be continuity between P1-P2, and between S1-S2. There should be no continuity between P1-S1, P1-S2, P2-S1, or P2-S2. I hope this helps clear things up a bit. Best regards.Claude
