If we follow Sagan's rules, here is where I believe we are:1. Not yet done.
2. Done to death but meaningless without 1.
3. Yep, this sure applies.
4. Naysayers have spun many hypothesis about anecedotal results of cable differences whereas most cable believers stick to one hypothesis about cable sonics.
5. See if you can find reasons for rejecting it. If you don’t, others will. This is true.
6. There has been some quantifying but no correlation between measured characteristics and hearing testing.
7. There are many weak links in the chain of the arguement.
8. Occam's razor seems to favour the sujectivists.
9. Haven't seen any results being checked out.
10. Haven't seen any reliable experimenting been done yet either.
My personal assessment is we are far from being able to claim anything scientific in relation to cables other than personal experiences where one person prefers one cable over another. I'd be willing to bet that this is the way it is going to stay for awhile.
