This would get my vote also. If you can handle eBay, some good deals would be available. Heck, you might even find an old tubed receiver to smooth out that pc sound.For me, I lucked out a few years ago and bout some Jamo CS-5 speakers. They have a four channel amplifier (!), a 5 1/4 and a 1" tweeter. I could not believe the sound. Alas, they are no longer made. I keep searching for more of them somewhere....
Try the receiver/speaker combo. I suspect they woudl do you well.
