It is not 'proper' in my book as I have found that such fobs with compromised power PS and clock components are not worth spending on, as SQ is also compromised compared to the big brothers like the iFi USB3 and Regen with LPS1.2 .

The USB3 is cheaper, has a very good superregulated PS and offers Ground break as well as permanent 5V switch functions. It still needs a decent but not expensive 9V input.

Mine cost about 330 euro which is cheaper than this gizmo.
