Is there any truth to Bullethead's comment that metal case inhibits wifi?

Running 3.11 with Digi+ Pro, no Wifi. And it's sitting only 3 feet from the FIOS router. The tablet that runs the squeeze control is connected there too by wifi.Is there any truth to Bullethead's comment that metal case inhibits wifi?
