RPi to iFi Micro iDSD

things are sounding pretty good with a Wellborne 5v PS for the RPi. I've moved on to Roon/Tidal and am back to enjoying the music :)

What should I test out as a USB 'thingy' between the RPi and the iDSD ?

As we all know, the options are overwhelming (Regen, RUR, Intona, iUSB, etc) and I'm just looking to hear who has experienced this combo and can share. It looks like the market for these is pretty active and I wouldn't take too much of a hit above shipping just to check them out.

I'm also a little lost on the USB cable alternatives for this combo.
I've seen lots of talk on that but don't really get the split cable notion.
