PiCorePlayer sounds no worse streaming TIDAL or QOBUZ from my MacBook Air to the same DAC so I'm not complaining.

That said, I'd like to have both internet streaming as LMS allows PLUS plug a stick with CD rips or even Hi Rez downloads into the Raspberry Pi directly.

If it sounds better, that's icing on the cake and might even replace the headless Mac Mini in my main system. A second Raspberry Pi somewhere on the network running LMS and all the 'traditional computers' and their overhead are out of the audio chain.
