I just spoke with Pierre Sprey at Mapleshade

He laughed and laughed and laughed when he told me that 54AWG would not even be enough for a 12 watt light bulb unless you wanted to start a fire. And as for Geoff Kait measuring 2 amps at the speaker, I believe the word he used was "clueless."

And the Mapleshade speaker cable uses 18AWG and interconnects 42AWG. Pierre said he has experimented with 54AWG but it is just too difficult to work with.
