Isolation Ward

I recently bought a box of hvac isolators, got them under everything in the house,now.
Put BGT to work.
Got rid of all the connectors between amp and speakers...things are so much cleaner,I can't listen low enough, 2nd position on the volume control is too high... shall I dirty something up(poor connection)so I have a noise threshold to drown out?
How about earplugs, maybe all I need is the psycho-acoustics, maybe I never needed any of this...
great to have inmates to talk to.
