Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

Is "vent rectification" an improper term ?

under sine drive I've heard reflex ports chuff and seen the woofer's center position move forwards from normal center. I've called this port/vent rectification - as if the normal back and forth movement of air in the vent is having difficulty in one direction causing the speaker's cone to offset forwards.

Oddly, the old Karlson K15 box with similar vent area/system tuning and rear chamber volume = to that reflex box did not exhibit the offset at that level. (20vrms/37Hz)

" Could ports c and d have hidden asymmetry?
All the ports were surface mounted in the enclosure. This
means that one end of the port has a baffle and the other
end does not. Thus all the ports were asymmetric. This
suggests a preferential airflow in one direction over
another, analogous to a fluid flow diode effect, and it can
be thought of as "port rectification."

Jon Risch of Peavey had a patent with deliberate vent flow direction to compensate for non-linear effects
