The C 2500 replaced the C 2300 Tube Pre.
I have the C 2600.
I also have a MA 6900 SS In Amp that sounds good.
Don't know about opamps.
Not everyone likes Mac gear, but not me!
The SS Pre's have smaller Numbers, C 50 is the current SS Pre.
My gear has the old Look, Glass Face Plate, Meters, Lights,
the old Mac-Stack style.
Tho my MC 275 Tube Amp is just a Metal Box with Transformers and Tubes, no Meters or Lighted Logo.
