RE: The advances have come in higher DSD resolution...

I feel like DSD sounds slightly better than PCM, but I've never taken a double blind ABX test. Initially I noticed the difference when I replaced my Alesis Masterlink with a TASCAM DA-3000 DSD recorder. I had been making 24/96 digital copies of my LPs with the Masterlink and I thought they were perfect. However, after hearing my first DSD128 copy of vinyl, my reaction was, "Wow! That's even more perfect!"

I now own a number of Native DSD256 recordings and again I feel like they sound better than hi-rez PCM. I also feel like DSD256 sounds better than DSD64. However, I don't know whether or not I can prove it.

Best regards,
John Elison
