There will be no sound quality difference in transferring files via Wifi or hardwired Ethernet.
Transferring a moderate sized library can take quite a while even on the Sony's hardwired Ethernet connection so Wifi could be painfully slow depending on the size of your library.
Even though Sony's spec claims to support 1000BASE-TX/100BASE-TX/10BASE-TX, mine never negotiated a link speed faster than 100BASE-TX (100Mbs) on my 1-Gigabit/s network and it took over night to transfer my relatively small (at the time) music library.
If you can run a temporary CAT5e Ethernet cable from your router/switch to the Sony, the connection will be faster and more reliable than wifi.
