I bought this when it first came out. It has outstanding sonics. The disc is a sampler and is short, only around 50 minutes of music. The music is jazzy, folksy, and bluesy. Perhaps someone can characterize it better than I can. It is one or two instruments, sometimes with vocals. There is solo bass track that is just dynamite.
The recording is sourced from 2" tape with Dolby SR. It's amazing what analogue tape is capable of doing. Of course, there is no huge dynamic range and thunderous bass, but what is here is positively gorgeous.
