Re: Opinions on Rebecca Pidgeon's THE RAVEN, please?

I have The Raven on SACD (it's a hybrid disc), and it's great. Honestly, I focus most of my attention on Pidgeon's voice (absolutely beautiful), so I find the instrumentation, while good, to be secondary. As for how the album was recorded, the booklet says:

"Recorded using the 128x oversampling A to D Mark III converter with ultra-analog modules and vacuum tube equipment built by George Kaye."

Listen to Pidgeon's rendition of "Spanish Harlem" on the SACD layer, and you will hear exactly what you bought an SACD player for. It's absolutely incredible. The CD layer is good, but the SACD layer is unreal. I feel The Raven is a must-have for any SACD collection.
