I ordered non-gneuine earpads for HD-600 and was disappointed with the ear pads even before installing. Amazon took them back immediately. I paid $50 for the genuine version and am very happy with them. I would not mess around for such fine headphones unless you really didn't care about them. The price often varies though, but I think 50 was the lowest I ever saw.
