That is helping me to clarify what can actually work, and what I actually WANT. The Aurender A100 does look to be exactly what I want. For now, however, I will keep that idea on the side and work specifically with the Stax setup (headphones + amp) while limiting my source to ONLY my CD player (Bryston BCD-1). So, the $5K will be for headphone + amp only.
