I have the predecessors which sound almost the same: HD595, and HD580.

Yeah, they do sound reasonably similar, and have good comfort, but.......

The difference between the sound signatures is like the difference between a good Beatles cover band at your club, and going to your club and finding The Beatles playing.

Yes, similar, but not the same.

On the other hand the 595/598 is much more sensitive and easier for random devices to drive and is fine for non-intense listening, and as such perfect for your application.
