I'm guessing the reason 'Critics' exists at all is to have a specific place to direct disparaging remarks at Stereophile (and in the past, JA in particular).
Previously, posts involving Stereophile were scattered all over the Asylum. I'm guessing The Bored finally got tired of cleaning up all of the messes all over the place and decided to stick the crap in one place with rules specific to criticizing audio publications.
