With all due respect, this is an even worse idea. Even well-known
publications have a great deal of difficulty charging for web content.
For a new website to charge $5 an access is a very good means of
ensuring that their content remains a well-kept secret.
And regarding your comment that contributors could work for nothing,
my personal experience is that with writing, as with anything else,
you tend to get what you pay for. That isn't to say that there are
not good writers who offer their stuff for free -- the blogosphere
wouldn't exist otherwise, nor would the Asylum -- but once you are
talking about a pay-per-view 'zine, things are different.
