Well, I'm not sure what the price will be for the AX-8 but it looks like a nearly ideal space saving 'combo device' that I wouldn't mind having in my office setup.
With 3 traditional analog inputs (including one balanced pair) as well as 6 digital inputs, and the ability stream Qubuz, Spotify, and Tidal via Ethernet, it looks like you get a quality amp and DAC in one neat package. I'm not sure if it's also Roon-ready.
The Ayre AX-7e was one of the very few solid-state integrated amps that I really like.... and I've compared several others. I'm listening to it as I type this post. I wonder how the new AX-8 will sound.
