I can vouch for the three samples of 600i my colleagues and I have lived with. Shut the unit off, via the back panel rocker switch. When you power the unit back up, it lies in standby mode. Then you have to use the front panel's Standby button to bring the unit into operation. WIth all three units, the full-on defaults to the balanced input, at volume level 30.0.Each press of the rear panel ON/OFF and front panel Standby buttons elicits a quick response from the unit. Should take seconds, not a full minute.
