It runs Class A for voltage, and Class D for current source. This does not sound at all like what most people would associate with Class D.
The Devialet is very sensitive to the original source material. There are recordings that sound pretty real with the Devialet, and not at all electronic.
To be honest (IMO) ALL solid state gear can sound electronic with some recordings, regardless of topology. Tube gear, on the other hand, often sounds warmer, more forgiving, has a special mid-range, and is usually less transparent (less inner detail).
